Star of the Week…

Chelsea’s incredible gaffer Antonio Conte and Super Falcons of Nigeria have this one for the week due to their extraordinary achievements in the past week.

Antonio Conte got awarded the Barclays Manager of the Month award for the second successive month (November) after the London giants continued their run of excellent Premier League form.

After four consecutive wins earned him the October accolade, Conte continued the winning habit by masterminding three triumphs out of three matches in November.

Wins over Everton, Middlesbrough and Tottenham Hotspur extended his side’s victorious streak to seven.

In October, he received the award lining up beside his own player, Eden Hazard, also named the best player for the month and this time, he did so with his striker, Diego Costa, who got November’s. Costa is the EPL’s leading scorer with 13 goals to his name.

Conte is the sixth Chelsea manager to win the award after Claudio Ranieri, Jose Mourinho, Avram Grant, Carlo Ancelotti and Rafael Benitez, and the fifth Italian, after Ranieri, Ancelotti, Roberto Di Matteo and Roberto Mancini.

It is the 12th time a Chelsea manager has claimed the award.

In the case of the Super Falcons, they went to Cameroon, saw and conquered by successfully defending the AWCON trophy they won two years ago, though it was kinda expected. This was sequel to mediocre preparations, unpaid camp allowances among other distractions they contended with earlier. Some players of the team also won various awards and even made the tournament’s ‘Best Eleven’.

It is worthy to note that they got back to the country and had to drop blood, tears and sweat to get deserved attention by way of their entitlements not even the supposed presidential reception and rewards. This was a sharp contrast to their Cameroonian counterparts whom they have defeated in the final of the last two editions.

The Indomitable Lionesses were hosted to a state banquet and duly rewarded by their country’s leaders despite being beaten to the trophy by the ‘humiliated, over-stressed and deprived’ Super Falcons…Smh!

Cheers and congrats ‘Sir‘ Conte, Super Falcons 😉 😀
